TDC NET – the future of
telecommunication infrastructure
TDC NET is in the
midst of an exciting transformation where network operations and infrastructure
is
established as a
stand-alone company. As a part of this journey, the Procurement organization is
a key
strategic
function. TDC NET will, in the coming years, be investing significantly in the
fixed and mobile
infrastructure of
Denmark, e.g. 5G across the country and fibernet access to 1 million
households. Change and investment bring significant opportunities for
Procurement to influence the success of the company and offers an interesting opportunity
to apply your sourcing, stakeholder and change management skills.
This exciting transformation
journey offers a unique opportunity to apply and develop your sourcing skills
and competencies. Therefore, TDC NET seeks a dedicated Category Manager for the
Technology category which consists of hardware, software, platforms and civil
works related to mobile and fixed network, e.g. masts, mounting devices,
routers, platforms, support, licenses, civil works and rental of areas for
masts. Vendors are typically some of the largest global technology and network
companies.
As Technology
Category Manager you are passionate about sourcing, project management and
ideally with solid experience from procurement of network, technology and / or
IT – and want to play a significant role in the future TDC NET Procurement
organization. You will be part of a dedicated Procurement function consisting
of a Category Management team and a Project Execution team working across
categories; in total close to 20 passionate Category Managers, Sourcing
Managers and Sourcing Consultants which handles all strategic sourcing
activities and manages a significant DKK billion spend.
Procurement is a
strategic priority for TDC and holds the commercial responsibility for all supplier
agreements; agreements that span from large multi-year partnerships to smaller
projects exploring new solutions and technologies. Procurement is based on a
total cost of ownership approach and a has keen focus on proactively adding
value to business as a close business partner through competent stakeholder
management and a significant execution mindset. In the coming years focus is to
further strengthen the category management approach within the Procurement
function.
Areas
of responsibility
The position as Technology
Category Manager has a broad range of interfaces and stakeholders and reports
to Head of Category Management who reports to CPO. Main stakeholders are
Delivery & Field Service, Technology, Vendor- & Contract Management,
Finance, suppliers and C-level in TDC NET. Key areas of responsibilities and
tasks will be to:
· Act as "Procurement Business Partner" to the Technology organization (incl. C-level)
·
Develop
& implement the Technology category strategy for TDC NET (annual spend:
~1,0 billion DKK)
·
Direct,
implement and oversee key strategic sourcing projects while ensuring full
stakeholder alignment
·
Build
and maintain tactic and strategic key supplier relations in close collaboration
with the business
·
Pro-active
and fact-based identification of optimization- and savings opportunities within
the category
·
Challenge
status quo and continuously explore new opportunities and new ways of working
·
Contribute
to the further development of the overall procurement function
Location
of the position is TDC NET’s Headquarter at Teglholmsgade in Copenhagen or TDC
NET´s office near Aarhus. Expect limited yearly travel.
Your profile as the desired
candidate
·
Ideally you have completed a
master degree in business, finance, law or engineering etc. and have minimum 5-10
years – gladly more – of sourcing and category management experience preferably
from telco or a technology intensive industry
·
Solid experience with
procurement and negotiation of complex contracts within technology / IT and experience
related to procurement related to mobile and fixed network would be an
advantage, but not a requirement
·
Experience in developing and
optimizing contractual frameworks across stakeholder boundaries
·
Comfortable and experienced
in managing senior stakeholders, also on C-level
·
A Strong Microsoft Office
skill set
·
Language; Danish or English,
with written and spoken English to negotiation level

stakeholders – with the ability to listen and create trust and openness,
collaborative of nature and a positive mindset. Being a skilled communicator,
you have a constructive and

Well-developed analytical
skills, a structured mindset and business acumen forms the way you work and
drive sourcing projects forward.
You are focused on transparency and execution and
have the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.

The compensation and benefits package will besides a fixed salary include company paid pension scheme (+ 3% flexible salary scheme on top) and good package of insurances, TDC Group products etc.
