Under the previous owner Lone Star Funds - and fueled by M&A - STARK Group more than doubled in size during the past 3 years. Recently being acquired by CVC
Private Equity and with the ambitions to double the size of STARK Group in the
coming years, STARK is now seeking
an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to work mainly within
M&A and second to support on group strategy and related projects as well
across STARK Group´s organisation.
The
Project
Manager will join the fast-paced Business Development function in STARK Group, working
in an M&A and a Group Strategy team – very closely collaborating – consisting
of seasoned ex-management consultants and ex-investment banking professionals
across the Nordics and Germany, delivering on an exciting agenda under CVC
Private Equity ownership where you will be part of the journey from the
beginning. The r
ole is to help ensure the right strategy is in
place, excellent execution on this, support and drive M&A projects and help
setup the business units for success, ultimately reaching STARK’s ambitious
business plan. STARK also works with some of the very best advisors and
consulting companies within strategy, business development and M&A.
The position
An important part of the
role is to support on full scope M&A activities from target screening, due
diligence, synergies identification, financial modelling and
post-merger-integration as well as ensure solid financial grounding and
rationales are in place across strategic initiatives, working closely with
STARK Group’s private equity owner representatives. Further, it will also be
supporting on the broader strategic agenda and strategy projects overseen by
STARK´s Group Strategy team. The role will have extensive Executive Management
and private equity owner exposure, given the nature of the role’s
responsibilities. Reporting line is
to the Group Head of M&A in STARK Group whom reports to EVP, CSO. Primary responsibilities and tasks in the position:
- Full scope M&A activities incl. target screening, identification of synergies, due diligence incl. handling internal and external stakeholders, financial modelling and valuation, preparation and presentation of decision material, anti-trust analysis, post-merger-integration, post-closing follow-up on value creation etc.
- Support on Group M&A strategy and ambition setting in close collaboration with the business units
- Engage with the business units on critical strategic topics, helping them getting things in the right place
- Ensure right target setting and tight group-wide strategy performance follow-up
- Collaborate with representatives from the private equity owner on business cases etc.
- Facilitate and drive strategic initiatives through inception phase
- Prepare analysis, recommendations and presentations to group executives and ownership representatives
- Support Group Strategy team when relevant with various strategic projects, business development, corporate-, business unit- and functional strategy etc.
Location
of the position is STARK-Huset, C. F. Richs Vej 115, 2000 Frederiksberg – a
small and very “job grade intensive” headquarter with around 50 group
executives, business leaders and key specialists.
Travel
activity in the job is estimated to 10-20 days a year due to the international
and growth focused nature of activities.
The
ideal candidate
As Project Manager, Group M&A & Strategy you possess the following
experience and qualifications:
- At least 2-5 years of experience from tier-1 management consulting, Investment Bank / Corporate Finance boutique, Private Equity or similar role from M&A or Group Strategy function in large-cap company
- Cand. Merc, Cand. Oecon / Polit or similar academic level with top results
- Seasoned management consulting, strategy and / or corporate finance toolbox
- Experience from Distributor business like companies, FMCG, or other fast paced, low margin companies is considered a plus
- Understands how to work with a commercially focused finance agenda
- Preferably experience of working with private equity companies
- Computer literate with Excel & PowerPoint skills on expert level
- Fluent in Danish and English, written and spoken
