TDC is the incumbent telco in Denmark with strong market position, leading mobile network quality, and 100% customer coverage via fixed assets (across fiber, coax and copper). TDC was taken over by a Consortium in May 2018 with the ambition to split the integrated telco into two independent companies, i.e. an infrastructure focused NetCo and an end-user content focused Nuuday. The owners’ long-term focus is the NetCo, where the majority of the combined value creation will happen (by focusing on large investments into long-term stable infrastructure assets).

TDC NetCo is from July 2019 now a fully independent company of material scale with approximately 2.800 employees, 7 billion DKK revenue, 55+% EBITDA margin and investments exceeding 35 billion DKK in the coming 10 years. TDC is going through change and network operations and infrastructure has recently been established as a stand-alone company; TDC NetCo – and in that respect “one of Denmark´s biggest startups”. TDC NetCo is trying to reshape a whole industry and become a reference point for the Telecom Industry globally. This high ambition requires strategic steering and close monitoring of the ongoing execution. Therefore, it has been decided to build a strong NetCo Strategy team responsible for managing and fueling the transformation. TDC NetCo Strategy is part of the overall Transformation unit of TDC NetCo and is an important partner to the business in this phase of transformation, which also has a keen focus on growth and business development.


NetCo Strategy

The objective is to create a high performing team, which in close collaboration with the business areas define and execute strategic projects to maximize value. There is a clear ambition to use the strategy function to recruit, train, grow, and retain talent. A natural progression from these positions will be more senior positions in NetCo Strategy, heading a strategy function in a NetCo Business Unit or within a few years other positions in NetCo business lines with people management and / or P&L responsibility. The company has a good trackrecord of absorbing employees from strategy functions in leading business roles.


NetCo Strategy will function as “an internal consultancy” responsible for a broad range of business-critical tasks and projects e.g. corporate-, business unit- and functional strategy, business development projects and support of top management and board. Each business unit in TDC NetCo have their own dedicated strategy function which NetCo strategy is working closely with. Ambitions are high and the atmosphere dynamic and fast-paced yet still with the focus on having fun and a better work-life balance than in leading consultancies.


The team is in the process of being built with focus on recruiting proven talent – already with e.g. several people with background from tier 1 consulting and therefore highly skilled peers. To further enhance execution power and talent pipeline in NetCo Strategy, Strategy Consultants and Senior Strategy Consultants are now to be hired. The positions will report to Head of Strategy Execution whom reports to SVP, Head of Strategy & Transformation Office who is also part of the NetCo top management.


Build execution power and work with a broad range of business-critical tasks and projects in NetCo

As Strategy Consultant / Senior Strategy Consultant in NetCo Strategy you will be responsible for your own projects and workstreams often in collaboration with and sponsored by top management and business leaders. In that sense you will take part in the full portfolio of key strategic initiatives and support the transformation. Specific accountabilities for the positions include:


·     Take part in shaping and implementing the NetCo strategy, i.e.

o    Develop, elaborate, and adjust the corporate strategy of TDC NetCo

o    Business Unit- and functional strategy in collaboration with BU strategy teams in NetCo

o    Implement strategic direction into projects undertaken


·     Business Development and managing key strategic projects where you drive problem solving forward, prioritize, manage overview, handle potential risks and remove roadblocks. Examples of projects:

o    Fiber network rollout (customer experience, cost, volume)

o    5G network rollout (define location strategy, customer experience)

o     Shaping new organization and reduction of complexity

o    Advanced analytics and artificial intelligence

o    Build new NetCo customer experience


·     Sparring with and executive assistance for top management, i.e.

o    Prepare analyzes, presentations and material for board of directors and top management meetings

o    Ad hoc strategic projects and tasks initiated by top management


·     Build strong relationships to key stakeholders in the organization including top management


Self-driven and execution minded senior strategy consultant

Your professional background and qualifications should overall include:


·     Education at Master’s level with a good result

·     Approximately 1½-4 years of experience from a management consulting firm or from a strategy-, business development- or EA position in a leading company

·     A solid strategy tool box and experience within typical strategy areas

·     Telco and / or technology understanding / interest is advantageous

·     Written and spoken English to negotiation level. Fluency in Danish will be a clear advantage

·     Ability to structure and solve complex problems

·      Ability to overview complex portfolio of key strategic initiatives and prioritize effort of where to push initiatives forward

·      Ability to reduce complexity and communicate clearly

·     Natural flair for stakeholder management and relationship building

·     Team player able to manage wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

·      The drive and curiosity to join an organization going through transformation

The compensation and benefits package will besides a fixed salary include company paid pension scheme and strong package of insurances, TDC Group products etc.
