A broad Financial Controller or Sr. Financial Controller role – depending on seniority – pivotal in supporting Scalepoint in its journey to be Europe´s leading insurance tech company. Focus on financial- and project controlling as well as optimizing, maturing and automating financial processes
Scalepoint is a well-established company having
built innovative software solutions since 2000 that make life easier for
insurance companies and the customers they serve. Our core product is a highly
advanced cloud-based software solution, that digitalizes and automates all
aspects of the process that is associated with reporting and procuring a claim
and in doing so significantly improves the insurance customer experience. We
currently employ 190 people and are growing year by year. Most of our employees
work out of our corporate headquarter in Copenhagen, but we also have employees
located in Switzerland and Poland. For the time being, our customers include 26
primarily large insurance companies, most of them from the Nordics, but we also
have large customers on key markets in Europe and are working hard to add more.

To
support ambitious growth plans, effective feasible project execution and
increased efficiency in general, Scalepoint is now looking for a Financial
Controller to join the Accounting & Reporting team. The Finance department
consists of Product Finance, Accounting & Reporting, and Business Finance
with a total of 12 employees. With a new CFO in 2021 the Finance organization
is on a transformation journey focusing on further maturing the finance
capabilities, improved financial processes and enabling for business oriented
financial management throughout the organization. ERP system is Dynamics NAV
while Tempo is applied for time registration. Financial reporting in accordance
with IFRS.
Responsibilities
Main
tasks will be to improve project- and revenue controlling, assist with various
controlling and monthly closing activities and to a big extent identify and
implement internal financial process optimization initiatives. You will report
to Head of Accounting & Reporting and will be an important link between
Finance and the rest of the organization – primarily Customer Management and
PMO. The position reports to Head of Accounting & Reporting – who has a
background as Cand.merc.aud and from auditing firm – whom reports to CFO, also
a strong profile with Cand.merc.aud, MBA and auditing firm background. In other
words, skilled colleagues to work with and learn from. Primary responsibilities:

Project- and revenue controlling
o
Responsible for
accounting and ensuring correct project data in Dynamics NAV.
o
Accounting and
handling of internal and client funded development projects (IAS 38/36 /
work in progress).
o
In close cooperation
with the Finance team and PMO department – where you act as the link – perform financial
controlling of projects and prepare reporting to the management group.
o
Improvement of
internal steering data, project reporting, and invoicing processes regarding
projects.

Financial controlling and support monthly
closure activities
o
Take part in the
monthly closing and reporting to the management group, including e.g. work with
fixed/intangible asset register, transfer pricing and various reconciliations,
provisions and follow up on deviations.
·
Drive optimization and digitalization of the
finance processes and internal controls including focus on “fast closing”,
“lean accounting”, smooth finance processes throughout the organization, e.g.
invoice approval etc.
·
Preparation of group and local audit
o
Together with
colleagues in Finance participate in group audit and have an important role for
the local audit of subsidiaries. Depending on your experience you will either
assist or be in charge of the process of the local audits.
Location of the position is at Scalepoint’s
Headquarter at Aldersrogade 8, 2100 København Ø.
Candidate profile
As the right candidate for the
position as Financial Controller you ideally have:

A Master’s degree within auditing (cand.merc.aud) or Business Diploma in
Accounting (HD R).
·
Around 2-6 years’ experience after graduation year from one of the bigger
auditing firms and / or from a position as Financial Controller, Consultant in
CFO Services or similar. If you have worked full time during your studies in an
auditing firm or finance function you could also have graduated recently.
·
Preferably experience with project controlling and / or controlling of work
in progress including invoicing of customers.
·
Experience from working with finance / auditing in an IT- or Project
organization is an advantage but not a requirement.
·
Experience with Dynamics NAV and IFRS will be an asset but not a must.
·
Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, and in general a good
understanding of IT systems.
·
Fluency in written and spoken Danish and English.
