TDC NET became a reality, when TDC was taken over by a Consortium (ATP, PFA, PKA and Macquarie) in May 2018 with the ambition to split the integrated telco into two independent companies, i.e. an infrastructure focused company, TDC NET and an end-user content focused company, Nuuday. The long term focus of the owners is TDC NET, where the majority of the combined value creation will happen by focusing on high investment into long-term stable infrastructure assets. 

TDC NET is operating as an independent company with its own purpose, strategy, leadership team, and plans for the years to come. TDC NET is shaping the next generation of nationwide digital infrastructure in Denmark. By rolling out stable, fast and reliable networks, TDC NET can ensure that the Danish society, including businesses, schools, hospitals and people are better connected than ever before. As the volume of data continues to grow exponentially, and new technologies in augmented reality, VR, IoT and autonomous vehicles etc. become an increasing part of everyday life, more bandwidth, stability and speed will be required by the network. 

Organization & team: 

As Director / Sr. Director, Strategic Transformation Projects you will join a highly capable Program & Project Management team of currently 5 dedicated employees responsible for delivering TDC NET’s key strategic transformation programs and projects within e.g. business, commercial, technology, IT, operations, change management etc.. Projects cover a wide remit and with C-Level sponsors. Recent examples include:

The team is part of the overall Transformation unit, Strategy & Transformation, of TDC NET and is an important partner to the company management in this phase of transformation. This is a significant role with the potential to influence the direction of a 2,500 person “startup” and lead key strategic projects to support and deliver on the transformation of TDC NET with C-Level reporting. Further, this role can also be a potential stepping stone into a leadership position in TDC NET. 

Areas of responsibility and success criteria: 

The role will be accountable for managing, delivering and implementing key projects and programs in TDC NET and with impact across entire TDC Group; therefore with top management attention. Referring to Head of Project Management in TDC NET – whom reports to Chief Strategy Officer, Head of Strategy & Transformation – the role is pivotal to transforming the company to a strong entity with a best in class execution.

To be successful in this role it is expected that the Director / Sr. Director, Strategic Transformation Projects:

  • Takes responsibility, maintains focus and ensures execution and implementation of projects; delivers according to time, cost & quality in complex settings with many stakeholders
  • Manages overview of projects and ensures transparency in progress with clear perspective on key milestones, success criteria, potential risks and frequent reviews with top management / sponsors
  • Ensures ownership of deadlines, prioritization of most important elements, and helps to proactively secure resources / identify solutions to reach milestones
  • Actively helps project teams / business units to identify and remove road blocks
  • Supports a step change in project management, capabilities, methods, skills etc. further improving the maturity level in the organization
  • Builds and develops strong relations to many different stakeholders across the organization
  • Drives sparring and cooperation within teams to deliver successful execution
  • Is considered a beacon in driving quality in deliverables and interactions
  • Manages expectations and leads by example
  • Is recognized as a strong executer that is in demand for leadership positions in the organization

Experience and professional competencies: 

The ideal candidate has a relevant Master’s degree, 5-10+ years of experience with senior project & program management positions in large complex organizations, and / or a background from a leading Management Consultancy having gained and demonstrated the following key experiences:

  • Project Management & Execution: Ability to overview a complex portfolio of initiatives, drive and execute on business critical projects and prioritize where to push initiatives forward to maximize value capture. Strong delivery orientation
  • Transformation: Experience leading an organization through a period of transformation and where transformation is a key element of all projects. Provide oversight, consistency and alignment across the project portfolio
  • Stakeholder Management: Natural flair for stakeholder management and relationship building. Experience operating at the top level of an organization toward executive management. Experience interfacing shareholders is an advantage

  • Strong structured thinking, problem solving, communication competence  
  • Proven ability to successfully manage change, monitoring complexity, diversity and risks
  • Self-starter with high level of ambition; manages projects, activities, resources effectively. Holds people accountable for their deliveries
