Nokia is seeking a high calibre Category Experience Manager for the Connect Category. This challenging and newly established position is located within the Business and Portfolio Planning team of the Broad Appeal Business Unit.  Broad Appeal Business Unit is responsible for the Connect category product range which balances price, functionality and style to provide mobile technology that improves and enriches people’s lives.

 

Provide vital input for product development
As the Category Experience Manager your main area of responsibility will be to create scenarios and models of mobile phone usage situations within the Connect category to ensure the right input for future product development. You will base these on your understanding about consumer preferences within the Connect category. Your aim is to represent the consumers in all aspects of the total product experience driving our competitiveness and market success through product leadership.

 

You report to the Connect Category Consumer Manager and you will have a broad interface to product managers, market researchers, User Interface teams, R&D developers and designers. Your primary tasks will be to:

 

·         Analyse Connect target segment needs and behaviour related to mobile telephony and non-mobile telephony usage.

·         Describe and communicate consumer needs and usage cases to relevant stakeholders

·         Provide supporting argumentation for product creation and business case development, including the framing of consumer research requirements

·         Translate consumer experiences and scenarios into specific product requirements and coach Product Managers in product decision making

 

Strong consumer and segmentation knowledge

As an ideal candidate you have a passion for mobile phones and consumer behaviour. Furthermore, you have:

 

·         A relevant Master degree in business, sociology, psychology or engineering

·         4-10 years of relevant experience within market research-, marketing-, brand- or product management from international top brand companies, alternatively from leading companies in the advertising industry

·         Strong segmentation knowledge in order to produce value adding consumer insights

·         Excellent analytical skills and successful experience in working with qualitative and quantitative data

·         Above average English skills, both verbally and in writing

As a person you facilitate product creation decision making through asking the right questions and listening with empathy to the voice of the consumers within the Connect target segment. Networking skills is one of your key strengths in order to identify key parties and build relations to them. You are an incisive communicator enabling you to create consumer insights and stories to influence product decision making.
