To support the energy transformation and new journey, Ørsted is seeking a highly skilled colleague to join the Corporate Strategy team in the position as Strategy Project Manager. Together with your colleagues, you support the CEO and Executive Management in defining and executing Ørsted's strategy. Corporate Strategy in Ørsted consits of four people working together with strategy functions in Ørsted’s three other business units Wind Power, Bioenergy & Thermal Power and Distribution & Customer Solutions.

Responsibilities  
In your daily work as Strategy Project Manager you have top management exposure while supporting company-wide initiatives as well as business unit specific projects with strategic impact in a dynamic environment. You will typically run one or more strategic projects supporting the green growth trajectory of the company, as well as performing ad hoc tasks requested by top management yet still with a much better work-life balance than in strategy consulting companies.

The position provides a steep learning curve with a strong focus on developing your competencies within strategy and project management further and nurture your talent. Further, the position, through the responsibilities, company wide network and senior exposure, provides a platform for more senior positions within the strategy function or the business. The position reports to Head of Corporate Strategy, Jesper Haarh, who has a background from tier 1 strategy consulting. Key responsibility areas for the position are described below:

 

·       Play a key role in the annual corporate strategy process including the formulation of the portfolio strategy of Ørsted and sparring on business unit specific topics

·       Scope, lead and drive strategic projects staffed by resources from Corporate Strategy team, business units, or other strategy teams in Ørsted – examples of projects could be: Identify and develop perspectives on new growth opportunities, develop scenarios for the future energy system and value pools, and corporate venture and long-term strategic options

·       Perform analyses and strategic recommendations to support projects and top management decision making

·       Bring new ideas and perspectives from research on markets, technologies, trends and competitors to be applied in a business development context

·       Ad hoc requests from executive management; presentations and deep dives in specific topics

·       Play an active role in the development of Ørsted´s internal strategy community

Location of the position is Ørsted’s headquarters in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. Travel activity in the job is estimated to 5-20 days a year.

Candidate Profile
As the ideal candidate, you have the following education and experience:

 

     A master's degree in business administration, economics, finance or engineering with top grades

     1½-3½ years’ experience from a tier 1 strategy consulting company

     A strong “strategy toolbox”, having worked with classic strategic topics

     Experienced with support and presentations on executive management level

     Super user of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint

     Speak and write English fluently

 

Personal characteristics and competencies are very important in this position, which includes:

 

     Have structured problem-solving skills and a strong analytical approach

     Experience in project management with the ability to scope and work independently

     Used to communicating complex topics in a clear and concise manner, orally and in writing

     Team player with good people skills and the ability to work in a collaborative manner

     A structured and reliable personality with focus on deadlines supporting you in planning and executing

     Ambitious and result-oriented working style with a high level of drive, initiative and persistency

The Corporate Strategy team functions as a support function to the CEO and works in a collaborative manner with all parts of the company, including senior management. We strive to deliver superior results while maintaining a much more balanced work-life compared to the consulting industry. The position also offers good opportunities for participation in talent program, collaboration with top tier consulting firms etc. The compensation and benefits package will besides a fixed salary include e.g. 10% company paid pension scheme, 3% vacation allowance, health insurance and 7 weeks’ vacation (of which 10 is “additional holidays”).
